No Waste. No Hunger. One Bottle = One Meal.

At Red Cap Hot Sauce Co., our mission has always been simple: make one thing, really, really well — and use it to do some good in the world. This year, we’re proud to continue our partnership with Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food-rescue organization, whose mission — “No Waste. No Hunger.” — says everything we believe in.

From October 1st to December 31st, 2025, for every bottle of Red Cap Peppa Sauce purchased, we will donate one meal to a person in need through Second Harvest.

Last year, thanks to your support, this campaign provided over 1,000 meals to people in our community. This year, we’re hoping to do even more.

 

Why This Campaign Matters

Food insecurity and environmental sustainability are both deeply personal to me. Growing up, food was never something we took for granted — we respected what we had, made the most of every ingredient, and wasted as little as possible. As I built Red Cap from those values, I knew I wanted to support organizations that protect both people and the planet.  Second Harvest does exactly that.

Consider these staggering facts they share:

  • Nearly 1 in 4 people in Canada don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
  • 46.5% of ALL food in Canada is wasted every year.
  • 8.83 million metric tonnes of perfectly good, edible food goes to waste annually — enough to feed over 17 million people three meals a day for a year.

Second Harvest tackles both issues at once. They rescue food that would otherwise go to waste and deliver it to non-profits and community organizations feeding people across Canada. It’s an elegant, powerful solution: reduce waste, reduce hunger, reduce environmental impact — all at the same time.
